Abstract

The role of formal sources of credit is crucial in the growth of agricultural as well as the economic sector of the nation. Non-availability of adequate finance at an affordable cost has forced the farmers to depend heavily on the informal source to meet their credit requirements. It is revealed from the statistics that the share of non-institutional credit has been declined to a large extend over the years. It is also interesting to note that the share of money lenders has also been declining.
