BACKGROUND- The study was undertaken to find out the Lower extremity functional status in athletes with flat feet. There is a functional relationship between the biomechanics of lower limb and structure of foot arches which may affect the activities like jumping, running etc .In sports like football, basketball there is much running and jumping activities which requires agile foot work and muscle strength. Flat arched feet may have poor ability of self-regulation when facing a movement with rapid impact force like vertical jump, which may increase risk of injuries and may also affect the performance of an athlete. Moreover, there is limited research available on the Indian athletes having flatfeet and whether a flatfoot exposes the athlete for risk of injuries during their respective sport.
